Improved support for web standards allows designers to take full advantage of the semantic and structural properties of HTML/XHTML and the presentation and layout properties of Cascading Style Sheets. The Accessibility of the OPAC web interface can be improved by observing the Web Accessibility Initiative Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WAI-WCAG 1.0) established by the W3C. Efforts made in this regard result in a more stable, accessible, and interoperable web interface. date: 2003-06-01 date_type: published full_text_status: public pres_type: paper event_title: North American Aleph User Group Fourth Annual Meeting event_location: Iowa City, Iowa event_dates: May 31 - June 2, 2003 event_type: conference refereed: TRUE citation: Jerabek, Alexander and Arth, Janet (2003) Web Standards and the ALEPH Web OPAC.
