We will look at a number of helpful functions such as SUBSTRING, COUNT, TRIM, REPLACE, LOCATE, LENGTH, IFNULL, CAST, CASE, and FILTER, and learn how these can be used to create simple yet powerful formulas for extracting data. We’ll review several formatting tips for tweaking the data output and also learn how to create a UNION query that combines two or more subject areas in one report. Finally, I’ll demo some reports that have proven handy at our site. I’ll strive to present material on a level that is useful to both beginners and advanced users. date: 2016-05-05 date_type: published full_text_status: restricted pres_type: paper event_title: ELUNA 2016 Annual Meeting event_location: Oklahoma City, OK USA event_dates: May 1-6, 2016 event_type: conference refereed: FALSE citation: Rogers, Mike (2016) Tips & Tricks for Alma Analytics.
