Upon migrating to Alma in May 2015, 13 of the 14 libraries within our consortium were configured with a two-desk RS setup, necessitating an abundant and complex workflow to do basic transit of books and media materials from one library within the consortium to another. After observing how a one-desk solution for our sole campus configured that way could minimize steps and speed up the workflow, we set about designing a plan to reconfigure all of our libraries in such a manner._This presentation is designed to show Alma administrators and RS Managers how the workflow may be simplified under a one-desk solution, as well as how to undertake such a transformative step in a live environment. If you use RS and want a simpler solution than the two-desk setup, we plan to show you how to get there. date: 2017-05-12 full_text_status: restricted pres_type: other event_title: ELUNA 2017 Annual Meeting event_location: Schaumburg, Illinois event_dates: May 10-12, 2017 event_type: conference refereed: TRUE citation: Buss, Crystal and Dobbs, Aaron and Sanders, Katie (2017) Optimizing Alma resource sharing.
