"abstract": "Learn how the University of Minnesota Duluth (UMD) implemented a new books location and workflow in Alma for a new collection on the library\u2019s first floor created to boost circulation of newly received and published books. In addition, UMD revived a previously used new items list, created using Alma Analytics, on the library\u2019s website using different criteria to promote all newly received materials.\r\n\r\nIn order to initiate these projects, we determined criteria for inclusion based on library staff feedback for both the new books location and new items list. We established a timeline for material to reside in the new books location before being rotated into our general collection and created procedures to facilitate new books moving from Acquisitions to Technical Services to Circulation. At this session, we will cover established workflows for item updates in Alma, assessment of effectiveness using Analytics, and successes and challenges for both the new books location and new items list.",
