Getting the Most out of User Management in Alma ispublished: pub subjects: Alma divisions: eluna_conf abstract: As Laurier Library migrates to Alma, we've been looking to Alma's user management capabilities with cautious hope. Could Alma help us to eliminate some of the workarounds that have developed over twenty years of managing a patron database in Voyager? Will it help to prevent some of the access issues that show up predictably each Fall? And could we finally find a more elegant solution for user interactions than our ID card barcodes? In this presentation, I will discuss how Laurier Library has been working to improve our user management processes and enhance user experience through Alma's user management capabilities. Topics will include the process of migrating users into Alma, handling internal vs. external users, interactions with Student Information Systems (in our case, Banner), Single Sign On, and user management within a consortium. date: 2019-05-03 full_text_status: restricted pres_type: other event_title: ELUNA 2019 Annual Meeting event_location: Atlanta, GA event_dates: April 29-May 3, 2019 event_type: conference refereed: TRUE citation: Moore, Dillon (2019) Banishing the Barcode?
