This presentation describes how we converted "Photocopy Request" functionality into a customized article request service for offsite Storage. Using this service, patrons can place article requests for Storage items via the web catalog. Library staff retrieve the items, scan the articles, and place PDFs on the server. A custom program processes each request, emails the patron a PDF containing their scanned article, and updates the request status. Requests not found or having bad citations are processed too, with appropriate patron notification via email. We hope the audience learns the workflow and details on how to set up this useful service. date: 2009-05-07 date_type: published full_text_status: restricted pres_type: speech event_title: ELUNA 2009 event_location: Richmond, Va. event_dates: 6-8 May 2009 event_type: conference refereed: FALSE citation: Manoff, Maribeth and Rogers, Mike (2009) How to Create an Article Request and Delivery Service in Alep.
