Many tasks automated in Voyager are fine for the single library but they get more complicated when you have one Voyager with multiple circ desks, acquisition points, and libraries. If different circ desks want to review their own mediated emails before sending them out, or run their own notices and reports, then Perl is the answer. If each acquisition point wants to review their own FPC/Rollover reports without looking at one huge pdf file, or they want to export invoice data to the central business office, then Perl is the answer. These and other patron loader, acq, circ, stats, and SysAd related tasks are easily done using the Perl programming language. This presentation will show you what is possible with perl to make your Voyager life more organized. date: 2009-05-08 full_text_status: restricted pres_type: speech event_title: ELUNA 2009 event_location: Richmond, Va. event_dates: 6-8 May 2009 event_type: conference refereed: FALSE citation: North, Michael (2009) Voyager Circ-Acq-Patron Tasks You Can do with Perl.
