Colorado State University Libraries has engaged in digitization projects for a number of years. The metadata for each project was designed by the project team, loosely based on Dublin Core, but varied widely from project to project. In 2007, CSUL acquired DigiTool for our Institutional Repository. The Metadata Best Practices Task Force was created and charged with developing a core set of metadata to be used for all digital projects and the IR. This case study will present the process used to create the core and how it has been implemented at CSUL. date: 2008-07-31 date_type: published full_text_status: restricted pres_type: speech event_title: ELUNA 2008 event_location: Long Beach, Ca. event_dates: 30 July - 1 August 2009 event_type: conference refereed: FALSE citation: Hunter, Nancy and Rettig, Patricia and Liu, Shu (2008) Metadata Matters: Developing a University Best Practices Model.
