This panel will be a discussion between the presenters and the audience regarding current data interchange and integration, as well as what we'd like to see in the future. We will begin by discussing the types of data FCLA currently imports and/or exports between the ILS and external systems, what those external systems are, and the mechanisms used. The audience will be asked to participate by sharing some of their current practices. We will then discuss the differences between data interchange and data integration, and consider various cases where each might be appropriate. We will consider questions such as: What current Services meet our needs? What data would we like to be able to exchange or access that we cannot currently? What data needs to be exchanged or accessed dynamically? The discussion is intended to be broad, encompassing import and export of data, as well as messaging between and links among systems. </mods:abstract><mods:classification authority="lcc">Voyager</mods:classification><mods:classification authority="lcc">Aleph</mods:classification><mods:classification authority="lcc">General Topics</mods:classification><mods:originInfo><mods:dateIssued encoding="iso8601">2008-08-01</mods:dateIssued></mods:originInfo><mods:genre>Conference or Workshop Item</mods:genre></mets:xmlData></mets:mdWrap></mets:dmdSec><mets:amdSec ID="TMD_eprint_324"><mets:rightsMD ID="rights_eprint_324_mods"><mets:mdWrap MDTYPE="MODS"><mets:xmlData><mods:useAndReproduction>
