Due to problems with managing authorities in ALEPH, the NAAUG (currently ELUNA) membership in 2001 and 2002 approved three separate enhancements to improve the handling of authority records in the ALEPH system. In 2005 an ad hoc group was formed to provide guidance for specifications to be included in version 18. With the release of version 18, this session will be a discussion by the members of the ad hoc group of the status of the authority enhancements.
