</mods:title></mods:titleInfo><mods:name type="personal"><mods:namePart type="given">Steve</mods:namePart><mods:namePart type="family">Bischof</mods:namePart><mods:role><mods:roleTerm type="text">author</mods:roleTerm></mods:role></mods:name><mods:abstract>This presentation will discuss the construction of custom services to select and edit patron records, which helps streamline the management of patron data.  These services use a combination of  SQL and shell scripting to extract and then edit the patron records.  Another custom circulation service is a customization of cash_05, which allows the user to select specific patron statuses and specific transactions to be included in the output of the report.  This custom service uses SQL to select a list of transactions and then passes this information on to standard Aleph COBOL routines to complete the service. &#13;
