abstract: Abstract: This presentation will cover a number of useful tips and tricks for using Oracle SQL to report and manage data. I will quickly cover some SQL basics and then present a number of helpful functions and techniques to extract and manipulate data. Some of these include SUBSTR, INSTR, DECODE, UNION, REPLACE, COMPUTE, “successive” queries, the use of TEMP tables, Oracle SQL Loader, Oracle Database Links, and so forth. There will be time for attendees to share their own SQL tips and tricks as well as ask any questions they might have. An electronic copy of my SQL documentation will be e-mailed to all attendees who request it.
